1.Q: What is LottoFam all about?

LottoFam is about giving people hundreds of more chances of becoming a lottery jackpot winner through pools put together by the LottoFam system, and all you need is yourself. Our pools include many benefits (see our Getting Started page). We do everything for you, so you can start out sharing hundreds of tickets instead of sharing just a few! While the best example of pooling is the "office pool" where groups of players combine their dollars to share the tickets and share the winnings, with LottoFam, because of the large blocks of tickets that are purchased, each person in the group ends up with dramatically greater chances of becoming a big winner.

LottoFam does all the work for you. One call can answer your questions, and we can place your order by phone or mail. You can use a credit card, debit card or check over the phone. You won't be standing in line, forgetting to buy tickets, or making last minute dashes to the store. It's simply the most powerful, exciting and convenient way of playing!

On average, tickets, bonuses and other incentives represent about 51% of the moneys paid in and servicing represents about 41%. Because there are costs that are the same regardless of the size of the play, the larger and longer the play, the more of the money that goes toward tickets and bonuses.

 

Your Share of the Winnings

* Sometimes LottoFam will also receive a share of the winnings, but only if LottoFam owns a share of the ticket just like any other member. +

LottoFam never receives any part of the winnings out of your share - you get 100%. So, for example, if you are in a group of 50, you will receive 1/50th of the winnings and if you are in a group of 25, you will receive 1/25th of the winnings.

 

5.Q: How much of the winnings are paid out?

A:

100% of all winnings are paid out to all those who share the numbers.

6.Q: Shouldn’t the winnings cover the cost of my selection?

A:

We hope so, but unless your numbers win some of the larger prizes, the smaller prizes will not cover the cost of your selection because they are divided among the other players sharing your numbers. However, the good news is your selection includes Bonus Bucks!, plus all the other bonuses and benefits. Also, keep in mind that the goal of pooling is not to win more small prizes but to get the most chances of winning the jackpot.

7.Q: What are Bonus Bucks?

A:

Bonus Bucks are cash rebates which appear on every Winnings Statement. This cash rebate will be added to your account balance. And of course, Bonus Bucks are in addition to the Free Instant Tickets. The more you play, the more Bonus Bucks you receive. So, you will never walk away empty handed!

8.Q: What if I forget to check my numbers?

A:

No problem. LottoFam automatically checks the numbers for every pool after every lottery drawing. You won’t miss out on any of your winnings.

9.Q: How are LottoFam numbers chosen?

A:

Unless specified otherwise, the LottoFam computer system randomly selects the numbers. The numbers are selected in advance so they can be sent to you before the drawings.

10.Q: How are the LottoFam pools structured?

A:

There are 10, 20, 25 or 50 shares in each pool of the main florida lottery.

11.Q: What share of the winnings will I receive?

A:

Your share depends on the group size you selected. Each player receives a 1/10th share of the winnings from their family pool if they are in a pool size of 10, 1/20th share of their family pool winnings if they are in a pool size of 20, and 1/50th share of their family pool winnings if they are in a pool size of 50.

Your share of the winnings is also determined by the number of shares you have in the winning pool. Unless you purchased multiple shares, you receive one share of the winnings.

12.Q: Can I purchase multiple selections?

A:

Yes, since we usually have several pools open, you may order a selection in any of our available pools. You can order the same selection number more than once or you can order different selection numbers. LottoFam makes sure that you are not assigned to any set of numbers more than once.

13.Q: Is it safe to use my debit card, credit card or check over the internet?

A:

Yes. It is just as safe as giving it to a sales person in a store.

14.Q: What does LottoFam charge?

A:

All you pay is the price shown on the order form plus a $3.00 one-time setup fee the first time you play. The price of your selection includes the cost of the tickets and the cost for all the other services and benefits offered by LottoFam. There are no other charges.

15.Q: Can I purchase through the LottoFam website?

A:

Yes you can. You may also pre-register on our website (no payment required) so that when you call in your order we will have your account information ready to go in our system.

16.Q: How do I make sure I don’t miss any drawings?

A:

LottoFam sends out either calls or sends out a Renewal Form approximately one week before your current selection is due to expire, but to make sure you don’t miss out, you can join our Automatic Renewal Program. You will automatically receive your new numbers with no missed drawings. You can also change or stop your Automatic Renewal at any time before the selection has started. Another benefit of Automatic Renewal is that you continuously save more money and receive an exponential amount of tickets.

17.Q: When will I receive my winnings?

A:

LottoFam reports your winnings at the end of each selection on your Winnings Statement located in the Member Area of our website. You may request a check, apply the balance to your next selection, or let it accumulate for future use. You have a full year from the date of your final play to claim your winnings or use them towards another selection. There is NO MINIMUM on check-requests. You may request a check at ANY POINT IN TIME. If your share of the winnings is $50 or larger, LottoFam will automatically mail a check to the address we have on file for you.

18.Q: How is the jackpot handled?

A:

LottoFam will notify each winner by phone and a certified letter along with a claim form.

19.Q: How can I confirm that the tickets have been purchased for each drawing?

A:

At any time you may request a photocopy of any ticket purchased. Include a copy of your certificate with the set of numbers circled, along with a self-addressed, stamped envelope or your fax number.

20.Q: Are lottery clubs and pools legal?

A:

Yes. States with lotteries recognize lottery clubs and pool playing. LottoFam does not sell lottery tickets. Only retailers who have been contracted by the Florida Lottery Commission are authorized to sell tickets. LottoFam promotes lottery club play with our computerized system to enhance our club member’s chances of winning.

21.Q: Doesn’t the United States Postal Service have rules regarding lotteries?

A:

Yes, several are in US Code. Sec. 3005 regarding lotteries and have been on the books for about 50 years. This was written to prevent people from starting their own lotteries. LottoFam is not conducting a lottery -- we are merely a club playing the Florida lottery. Another statute frequently referred to is Sec. 1302 - Mailing lottery tickets or related matter. We do not mail any lottery tickets or Florida lottery materials through the mail.
